The Party Kit Network, and founder Isabel Mack, have been nominated in the upcoming Hampshire Women's Business Awards 2020.
We are proud to join the other nominees in the Local Spirit category. This award recognises a special Social Enterprise or Charity that solves a need and serve the local community in an outstanding way.
From a seed of an idea in June 2019 the Party Kit Network has grown quickly, inspiring a community of people across the UK to take action against unnecessary waste.
The party kit is such a simple yet powerful concept - it seems almost crazy that they weren't the norm before! Every time a party kit is hired that's an average of 100 single-use items saved from landfill.
Winning an award like this would be a great first step in recognising the potential of the Party Kit Network. Prior to the COVID-19 lockdown we grew from just a single party kit in July 2019 to almost 400 in just 8 months.
There is so much potential to both reduce waste and spread the message that sustainable lifestyle changes can be easy (and often cheaper) that the equivalent disposables.
But really an award like this would recognise the hard work of the amazing 400+ people around the UK who have worked so hard to set up new party kits and to lend them to their local community.
Voting has now closed.
The winner will announced at the awards ceremony which has been postponed until July 2021 due to COVID-19.
